Big Sugar Bush
Lake Association

In 1974, several property owners (Dorothy Collins, Rod Bergen, Dave Anderson, Jim Lindsay and Bob Mueller) decided to  establish a lake association.  The first meeting of the Big Sugar Bush Lake Area Association was held May 25, 1975, at Ted DuBois' Big Sugar Bush Lake Resort, with Rod Bergen presiding. Committee members: Rod Bergen, Dave Anderson, Dorothy Collins, Jim Lindsay and Bob Mueller.

The committee met several times and decided to present its findings to a general meeting, sent a letter to all known lake property owners, enclosed copies of suggested by-laws and articles of incorporation and Becker County zoning ordinances for recreational development lakes. About 30 persons were present at the first general meeting.  Since this time, the association has always been committed to preserving our beautiful lake and it's surroundings.

Benefits of becoming a member

A benefit of buying a lakefront property is the ability to join a wonderful lake association.

Lake Association members help keep the lake pristine while having the opportunity to give input on ways to maintain the lands surrounding Big Sugar Bush Lake.  Members also help lakefront homes to keep property values high through:
-  financial contributions
- hands on volunteer efforts
- monitoring government to ensure that laws are not enacted that will impact the lake
- help the lake maintain water levels, purity and quality.

As a member, you can also lend a hand in preservation efforts that protect the indigenous wildlife of the lake.
